NASEOH (National Society For Equal Opportunities For The Handicapped)

NASEOH is an organization that was founded over 3 decades ago to help improve the lives of handicapped people in India. Their activities are multifaceted, some of which are listed below.

- Making efforts to sensitize both government and industrial organizations about problems faced by
the disabled.

- Organizing seminars, conferences, workshops, etc, to educate the general public about the role
any person or organization can play in minimizing the problems of the disabled.

- Providing education to the disabled, as well as working to integrate existing educational programmes to serve them.

- Providing job training for the disabled at various facilities.

- Providing help to the educated disabled in finding suitable employment.

- Providing jobs to some disabled, based on available sub contract work from various industries/organizations.

After the Gujarat earthquake, a team of medical personnel conducted camps in the affected areas to provide medical attention to those who were injured, as well as to evaluate their condition to determine what kind of orthotics they might need.

Based on their findings, they approached various donors for funding for orthotics. They requested us to provide funding for 125 triwheelers and 20 wheelchairs. All of these are manufactured by disabled people at NASEOH workshops. The total funding came to $11,700.
