Firstly, thank you for choosing to donate to VIDE. Before you make a donation to VIDE, we would like to bring to your attention the matching program and automatic pay-roll deduction.

Matching Programs:
A lot of companies (such as Cisco, Nortel Networks, Sun Micro Systems, INTEL...) encourage giving back to society and have the practise of matching charitable contributions made by their employees. For example, with a dollar-to-dollar matching program, for every dollar contributed by the employee, the company also contributes a dollar. We encourage you to find out if your company has such a program and make use of it.

Automatic Pay-roll deduction Program:
Automatic pay-roll deduction is one way to contribute easily to worthy VIDE programs without much effort from donor-side on an on-going basis. This program enables VIDE to have regular cash-flow to sponsor long-term projects and emergency relief projects.

Initially, contributors agree to their corporate pay-roll deductions program by providing their company with amount to be deducted and then afterwards without any effort from donors, the specified amount is deducted from their payroll and automatically deposited into the VIDE account. VIDE will give receipt(s) for the donations from time-to-time or once a year.

Here is an example of how a small amount per pay-check makes a big difference:-
$10 deduction per pay-check makes an year total of $260. With Cisco matching it becomes $520. 100 employees donate this way, total will become $52,000. This is very substantial amount to sponsor any sustainable projects.

If you're in, say, 30% tax bracket, you get $78 tax credit by donating $260 per year. So essentially, your $182 after tax benefit contribution provides VIDE $520 cash-flow per year.
